What is the riporto?
The riporto is one or more layers of matter of various chemical composition (metal and non metal alloys, oxides, carbides, etc.), laid onto a particular part, of any shape and material, with the aim of providing it with physical and mechanical properties the part didn’t originally have, that in order to solve various problems, as wear, corrosion, electrical and thermal conductivity/insulation, grip increase, etc.)
A few simple examples:
• The lifetime of mechanical parts that are subject to wear, such as mixers, Archimedean screws, grinders, turbines, blades, rollers, pumps, etc. is to be increased.
The part is coated with tungsten and chrome carbides bound to other components (cobalt, nickel, chrome, etc.), (stelliti) 1-6-12, hastalloy c, inconel, nicraly, ecc, according to the employ type and field. The coating is carried out with a high developing procedure, the HVOF ( high velocity oxygen fuel ). The process’ feature is the high speed given to particles, thus brought to a doughy state and then cast against the part. An elevate adherence strenght (over 12000 PSI),hardness (1400 HV) and low porosity (around 1%) (riporto) is the outcome.
This process features the advantage of not altering the part’s shape and is therefore possible on the finished part. The maximum thickness that is possible to settle depends on multiple factors (as the kind of alloy set, the part’s material and shape)
• The problem of strong wear in the retain zones of a drive shaft or of pistons is to be removed.
To solve such a problem hardness and wear resistance in retain zones, but at the same time other properties as elasticity, toughness and workability of the part are to be preserved.
The possible solution of realizing the part in ceramics or integral widia doesn’t take account of the part will work, and the proper fragility of the material may constitute a problem.
The process is then carried out directly onto the part, without therefore affecting it’s properties; a layer of chrome oxide is settled in retain zones through the APS (air plasma spray) process the zones are to be rectified up to adequate dimension and roughness. This way the part’s lifetime is increased.
• A part, or a zone of a part needs to be electrically and thermally insulated.
Through the APS process an aluminium oxide layer is settled, this allows an electrical insulation of 1000V per tenth of material laid.
If a thermal barrier is to be created instead, through APS a layer of nicraly and zirconium oxide is laid.
• It would be possible to bring up endless examples, but what is our intention to show is how, thanks to these new processes and the great variety of materials and alloys liable to be used , the technique of riporto allows many problems of the production cycle, in any sector, to be solved.
These problems show an increasing trend, that because new technologies are exasperating performances, efficiency, quality, durability, and at the same time reducing dimensions, weighs and pollution causes of all producing facilities.
The objective of riporto, and therefore ours is basically:
HELP YOU, SUPPORTING YOU IN TECHNOLOGIC GROWTH.
